The Department of Neurosurgery treats people of all ages—from children to adults—who have neurological diseases requiring surgery such as tumors of the brain and spinal cord, disorders of cerebrospinal fluid circulation, congenital malformations, tumor diseases of the peripheral nervous system, functional disorders such as Parkinson's disease, pain conditions and epilepsy. Care is also provided for degenerative diseases of the spine in which the nervous system is involved, and patients receive comprehensive treatment for injuries to the skull and the brain.
